Grape varieties: 70% Rousanne, 30% Viognier
This white Cuvee de Louis grows in Saint-Joseph.
Since the wine contains Viognier in the blend, it cannot be declared as Saint-Joseph, as no Viognier is approved for this AOC.
The wine is only gently kissed by the wood; some of it is stored in used barrels for six months after fermentation.
In keeping with the style of Rhône whites, this is a creamy and full wine.
The fully ripe and warm 2022 vintage also plays a role for this voluminous style, but the wine remains full of tension and not clumsy.
